Apple continues to extend its iPhone plan, with the device set to go on sale in South Korea soon and talks continuing with China Mobile.

South Korea’s telecom regulator this morningapproved sale of the iPhone in the country, where policymakers have finally reached an agreement to grant Apple a license to run location-base services on the iPhone.

Regulators had been reluctant to grant permission, citing potential privacy problems in the machinations of iPhone’s location-based services. Apple will receive the license to sell the device in S. Korea next week.

In related news, China Mobile confirms it is still in talks with Apple with a view to carry the iPhone on the world’s largest carrier network. Smaller rival China Unicom is already selling the device.
